twelve september 2009

OK, Mommo showed me how to write on our blog. See if it works. Maybe I will catch on to this computer business yet. I know how to read and send E mails. How about that. And I do pretty good up at work with the things I need to do. Have to write a report on all the information I get via the phone. Stolen car? Report done and then it is put on NCIC. Runaway or missing person. Missing adult person, no NCIC, all runaways yes. Sometimes bad things happen to missing childrens. Car prowls, car strips, ID theft, all kinds of fraud, many kinds of theft, don't leave your purse or wallet or any thing of value in the car. Make sure you are where you are supposed to be, doing what you are supposed to be doing, when you are supposed to be doing it! Keeps a person out of a lot of trouble and smooths out a lot of speed bumps in the road of life.
We went over to the Stake Fair today. It is held at our ward grounds, we have the ball park there and a pavilion. Great for lots of activities. We have even had a couple of our Pack Programs at the pavilion. At the fair there was food to eat. games for the younger to play, dutch oven cook off, antique car show; oldest one there was a 1931 Ford pickup. Looked about like it just came off the show room floor. I ate a sloppy joe type sandwich, melted cheese on nacho cheese chips, and,.... three helpings of the soft ice cream. They had lots more stuff, but that was enough. Time to quite. Love to all my family. SFT

Our Peace Rose

Our Peace Rose that grows on the East side of the drive produced many beautiful roses. This one
is so pretty, and covered with dew. It had rained the night before. It's fun to have beautiful flowers.

Asparagus grown in our garden

This asparagus was grown in our asparagus patch, photographed, and eaten! It tasted just the same.

Planters with flowers

Thanks to our children for the gifts for Mother's Day. Here is a picture of the planters (and all planted, also).

The plants are fountain grass, regal geranium, white and magenta New Guinea impatiens, alyssum. I really do enjoy them.

Family Fun

This is Bridget (can you believe it?)

This past week has been a lot of fun. Jesse was able to come in Thursday the 19th... He played with his MHS basketball team to complete the alumni tournament that began earlier (Monday?) in the week. We got to see a lot of people we had not seen for some time and enjoy watching the team play. I will leave the details and outcome for Jesse to report. Don't want to steal his thunder.
Last games were played Saturday evening. Sunday morning he flew back to Colorado.
We truly enjoyed the visit. We are looking forward for their family trip here in July.

Sunday evening we hosted the grandchildren to dinner at our home. It is so great to have them here.... Grandpa gave them all a rundown on where his hats all came from and by whom. He had made some games for them to test those school brains they have all developed. Thanks to our children for adding so much happiness to our lives. They are all wonderful people!!!
Family is a joy.
We had a nice chat session. I inquired if any of them were computer gurus and could look at our router with the hope that we could connect our two computers. Jordan was willing to give it a shot "Voila"! It is so much fun to see people know where to go and what to do... now all we need to do is get a Belkin card for our computer. Those of you who have laptops can now have internet when you visit, (sans wires).
It has snowed today... Dane went to work before it had really begun. VTers are due @ 12:00... I guess that means "man the shovel time" so they can make it up the drive.

Rename Wednesday 2-25

Hi all fans of Great Dane, we have changed our name as you can plainly see. We will give this a try. Mom's nickname as a little girl, was Bridget. Bridget is a common Scottish name. However, she is not half as Scotch as I am.!!!

Ah hah, I got the thing added, I think. OK, what has been happening at out home? I've got two stumps I need to remove from the back yard. Any of you have a few sticks of TNT? I guess I will probably have to burn them out. I have tried digging and chopping out the roots. I won't live that long, besides it is really painful for my back. We had a successful Blue and Gold last Wednesday. For the Cubmaster minute I told the Cubs, and the Akelas about Cyrus, Artaxerxes, Xenophon and hopefully they will report as asked about Bucephalus, next Cub Pack Program. Bucephalus came up as I showed them a picture of Alexander the Great for how Cyrus et al would have looked in battle dress.
One of you asked about my testimony. I have never had any doubts about the truthfullness and reality of our Father in Heaven's Eternal Program. I know who the Savior is and I know that He is, and they are very good to me. And I tell them that I love them, and I thank them for sending each one of you to us. I love you all. Eternal Family, no empty chairs. I look forward to seeing my own Dad and my other son when I get to graduate to the other side. Dad SFT
Help, I have found my blog spot again. And I would like to invite you, ...family etc to be guests (followers)?? to my blog spot. I'm going to keep trying!! Might even have something interesting to write one of these times. Dad SFT
